Electronic Arts (EA Games) has been known as the company that brought popular racing games. One of these was Need for Speed. From their different versions in the early '90s, it has steadfastly maintained its mark as one of the best entertainment companies and the most eagerly waited in the game genre. Recently, they had invaded the different consoles. And Need for Speed is really marketable. A few months ago, September 15th to be exact, a new game version was introduced. It was named Need for Speed: Shift. Perhaps at this point, you would question why the shift? Is this way better compared to its predecessors? Are there things to be considered, and even to anticipate? Together, let's find out. Need for Speed Shift is not any game you want to race to win. This actually does more. It is a simulation of the real thing. Undoubtedly, the environments are realistic so are the cars, gears and everything. It seems that EA's tie up with Slightly Mad Studios had in fact demonstrated a breakthrough in terms of innovation. They even made smart choices in choosing and deciding which aspects are realistic and those that should not. The controls may seem a little arcade-y, but presentation wise it's like driving the routes in real life. This in turn induces new players for that kind of feel and easier manipulation with a view higher. Another feature any player can look forward to in Need for Speed Shift is the inclusion of real roads in the game. Maybe you can recognize some lanes as Brands Hatch world, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Willow Springs National Park and Donington. These and more add up to 19 tracks available, which you can unlock and use. It may not be 100% accurate in some details, but the design of the course is delivered intact and complete. For fans of the different cars, the new installment of Need for Speed is something you would really want for car customization is available. There is no limit as to what you can do with your chosen car. You can actually influence the alignment of cars, tires, brakes, aerodynamics, gearbox and differentials. Munch more the vehicles present are fantastic and realistic. Different methods are presented for the total enjoyment of the player. There are modes to select namely quick race and career mode. Quick Race allows you to create races and drifting events. Career mode contains several events that are on the racing circuit. You can move slowly through the ranks to become a world-class driver. There are actually many things that the new Need for Speed Shift can offer. This is only a handful of the things that any enthusiast can totally experience. Additionally, you not only have realistic racing, but fun race gaming as well. Anticipating on a new racing game today?
